  • Keep soil slightly moist

  • Somewhat drought tolerant, but take care not to over-watering

  • Chemicals in tap water, like flouride and chlorine, may cause leaf tips to turn brown

  • PRO TIP: Fill a pitcher with tap water and let it sit for a few hours to air out the chemicals before watering OR use distilled water, if possible

  • Indirect or partially shaded light

  • Tolerant to full shade, but extended periods may cause growth to slow

  • Keep away from full sun. This will cause foliage to wilt or even scorch

  • Loamy soil with good drainage

  • Ideal soil structure includes roughly 40% sand, 40% silt and 20% clay

  • Consistency matters more than perfection.

  • Classified by USDA as perennial, Zone 9.

  • Do not tolerate temperatures below 50° Fahrenheit.

  • In Missouri, they are considered annuals, making them more suited for indoor planting
